Munvo Team’s Insights from Adobe AEP Bootcamp in San Francisco

Munvo Team's Insights from Adobe AEP Bootcamp in San Francisco

Melanie Zuniga's Perspective

A couple of weeks ago, I had the special opportunity to attend the Adobe Experience Platform Foundations Bootcamp, led by experienced Adobe professionals at their San Francisco office. This bootcamp focused on the foundational architecture of the Experience Platform’s components and how to apply them to real-world scenarios and business objectives. The structure of the bootcamp was impressive, with the lab work perfectly complementing the lecture sessions, ensuring we covered all concepts thoroughly.

One of the most significant insights I gained was the standardized approach to translating relational data models to a NoSQL model, specifically Adobe’s XDM schema. As a consultant who works with AEP daily, this has always been a complex task. Eric Knee, our instructor, demystified this process, providing a guideline that will streamline future AEP implementations. This newfound knowledge has given me a deeper understanding of the platform than I could have anticipated.

The cherry on top of this professional development was that the bootcamp was held in San Francisco, a city I had always wanted to visit. I explored the famous Fisherman’s Wharf, captivated by the resident sea lions’ barks. The highlight was undoubtedly the Alcatraz night tour, where I delved into the eerie history of the infamous prison. My visit culminated with a breathtaking sunset over the Golden Gate Bridge, a sight that will stay with me forever.

In summary, the Adobe AEP Foundations Bootcamp was an unforgettable experience, and I am eager to share my newfound knowledge with my fellow Munvonians.

John Kang's Perspective

Attending the AEP Foundations Bootcamp in San Francisco was an enlightening experience for me. The highlight was the final day’s exercise, which tested everything we had learned. The instructor proposed a business idea, and we had to implement it using Adobe’s Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RTCDP). This exercise mirrored real-life situations where clients often have unclear or unrealistic expectations.

We used the LID methodology to convert the client’s existing SQL database to a NoSQL database and set up targeted solutions that met the business needs. A key lesson was how to respond when clients ask for changes that aren’t scalable. Instead of making the change, we learned to investigate the requirement further and devise a more sustainable solution. This exercise was invaluable in enhancing my strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

This bootcamp was not only about enhancing my technical skills but also about developing a strategic mindset. The practical, real-world scenarios we tackled will undoubtedly benefit our projects at Munvo, enabling us to deliver more efficient and effective solutions to our clients.

We’re excited to bring back the insights and knowledge we gained from the Adobe AEP Foundations Bootcamp to the Munvo team. Our adventures in San Francisco added a personal touch to our professional development, making this an unforgettable experience. We look forward to sharing our learnings and continuing to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of digital marketing solutions. Stay tuned for more updates from our team!
